Former Tata Group chairman and business tycoon Cyrus Mistry died in a road accident on 4 September 2022.
Cyrus Mistry was the sixth and second chairman of the Tata group who did not belong to the Tata family.
The level of education of such a big business tycoon was also very high.
Cyrus Mistry, born in 1968 in Maharashtra, was the younger son of Pallonji Mistry.
His parents belonged to a Zoroastrian religion and had their roots in India.
The Pallonji family has been in business for over a century, and Cyrus Mistry's grandfather first acquired a stake in Tata Sons in the 1930s.
Cyrus has completed his higher education from London. He was educated at the prestigious Cathedral & John Cannon School in South Mumbai.
After Engineering, Mistry later attended the London Business School and was awarded a Masters in International Executive in Management from the University of London in 1996.
Cyrus Mistry joined the board of Tata Sons in September 2006, a year after his father retired.
In 2013, Cyrus was made the chairman of Tata Sons. Apart from this, he was also the chairman of big Tata companies like Tata Motors, Tata Steel etc.
In 2016, Cyrus was removed from the post of chairman and this responsibility was handed over to Natarajan Chandrasekaran.
